Mohair Traditional Jointed Teddy Bear Eco Gift

Each bear is a handmade using my own traditional style pattern and natural materials. Patterns are individually cut for each bear so they each have their own adorable expression.

Cuthbert is a steady little soul who thinks carefully before he speaks. He is very popular in the bear cave as he is a gentle giant and a good friend to everyone. He has been very interested in the garden and loves a family zoom call. He is excited about meeting his new family and hopes that he will be able to give out lots of hugs (after quarantine of course!).

I use natural materials and try to source materials as locally and sustainably as possible. They therefore make excellent eco gifts. The bears have glass eyes, which are made in the UK and an embroidered nose. Their limbs and body are weighted with steel pellets, which are recycled and sustainably washed. They are stuffed with the finest wool batting locally sourced, washed and carded. Their left feet are hand embroidered with the DevonGrizzlies flag to help them remember their Devon home. A little red natural felt heart is placed inside their bodies when I make them. They are between 16 and 20 cm tall and sit unsupported. They will arrive carefully packaged in a gift box and recyclable materials via Royal Mail signed for package. During this world pandemic I have been making the bears as a mindful activity. Once they are completed and have had photos and introductions I package them ready for dispatch and then quarantine them (in a glass cabinet) so that they can be dispatched with minimum further contact. They will arrive ready for a big hug once the outer packaging has been removed.

The bears make excellent gifts to announce the birth of new babies to grandparents, to wish a teenager luck when taking or revising for their exams or taking their driving test, or to commemorate a special birthday, retirements and anniversaries.

Please note that these are artists bears and have small parts and fibres, which are not suitable as toys for babies and young children.
